WENGER NOT SURE ABOUT FELLAINI

Here's one to make Gooners punch themselves in the face with frustration.

The Daily Mirror reports that Marouane Fellaini is keen on a move to Arsenal, but Arsene Wenger is slightly less keen to pay the £23million required to trigger his release clause.

Oi vey. The Mirror claims Everton have yet to receive an approach from Arsenal or anyone for the big Belgian, but Wenger is umming and ahhing about the fee.

The paper reports: 'Wenger is unconvinced that £23m for Fellaini represents good value, and so far has not been prepared to commit to a bid that will trigger his release clause.'

Ah, Arsene 'Value' Wenger.

HAMMERS WANT BA & ZAHA

Interesting line in The Times, who report that West Ham have some ambitious plans for their summer business.

The paper claims they want both Demba Ba and Wilfried Zaha on loan, which would seem rather unlikely but impressive if they manage to pull it off.

Apparently they initially asked for Romelu Lukaku, but he'll be staying at Chelsea, so switched their attentions to Ba.

And on Zaha, the paper claims: 'The East London club hope that Zaha will become available for loan in August after taking part in the pre-season programme with Manchester United. The 20-year-old forward helped Crystal Palace to reach the Barclays Premier League through the play-offs last season after returning to the club on loan in the wake of his £15 million transfer to Old Trafford in January. Palace are also keen for him to return on loan next season.'

BALE, RONALDO, BLAH BLAH

Here's some stuff about Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale that we can't really be bothered to go into, because...well, you know.

The Daily Mail reports that PSG are hopeful of beating off (leave it) their rivals for the simian Welshman, and are preparing a bid of around £85million.

Meanwhile, there's a knock-on/trickle down/up thing happening, as according to The Sun Manchester United hope Real Madrid sign Bale, so they can get Ronaldo back.

Pound to a pinch of poo that neither of those deals happen this summer.

SPURS IN FOR BARRY

Spurs have a problem when it comes to their midfield beyond Mousa Dembele and Sandro, for next in line is the slow Tom Huddlestone and the slooooooow Scott Parker.

With that in mind, they have a target in place to sort that problem out - Gareth Barry. Ahem.

The Daily Express reports that Barry could be part of a mini clearout when Manuel Pellegrini finally arrives at Manchester City, and Spurs will be waiting with a £4million bid for the midfielder.

Stoke are also keen, it says here.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mirror reports that Spurs are close to signing Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin who is rated at £21million, while they also want Cagliari's £13million-rated holding midfielder Radja Nainggolan. Also, The Times says they're in for Ibrahim Afellay.

TORRES TO BARCA?

We should probably mention this Fernando Torres to Barcelona stuff that was knocking around yesterday, which has made it to the English papers this morning.

The Sun claims Barca will make a £17million bid for the striker, with the paper claiming that the only question now is how much of a hit Chelsea will take on their record signing.

Over in The Daily Mirror, there is word that Barca do want Torres, but only as a 'super' sub.
